About Us

Built by a small team (1.25 people and a dog) in Brooklyn who wanted a simpler and safer way to give things away, we created Treasure It to help our neighborhood share more and waste less. After all, one person's trash is another person's treasure.

Items on Treasure It are given freely - there's no purchase or exchange of any kind. This keeps items out of the landfill and we hope it saves you some money too. We know a lot of our neighbors need to create space in their apartments but don't want to put perfectly good things out on the curb. We also know that everyone is busy - giving stuff away shouldn't take a lot of time and energy. Our focus is on streamlining the logistics and facilitating the process, making it as easy as possible to give and receive items.
